I’ve been busy, not really in a blogging mood either. Not to mention both my PC and Laptop died. The hard drive quit in my PC, luckily I had most stuff backed up, lost a lot of pics though. Well, I don’t know if I lost them, it’s just how much would I pay to get them back, I’ve heard of services that will retrieve data from corrupted hard drives. My laptop still boots up but the USB, keyboard, and touch pad all stopped working, so even though I can see the screen I can’t do anything. It may be fixable but I haven’t messed with it much, the aforementioned PC problems still got me bummed, and I don’t feel like messing with it. So I’ll try to blog more often despite the set backs.

Ok, just updated to wordpress 2.0.6 (with a little help from my bro) I got the Askimet spam plugin taking care of spam comments, hopefully. I turned comments back on, so comment away. Still gonna change some more stuff, need to update the links to other sites as some have gone away, maybe change the theme and layout, also add some plugins maybe. I noticed the music player doesn’t have any music, I’ll work on that.

It was 70 degrees yesterday now it’s below freezing and will be like this for a few days. Supposedly some ice accumulation. Since I can’t or don’t really want to venture out anywhere, I’ve decided to try to update this site. I need to upgrade Wordpress to the newest version and maybe change the layout a little…..or I could screw it all up and lose everything. This blog will still be here, but what happens to the content remains to be seen. I will back it up of course, but I’ve never done the upgrade before so we’ll see.

Well I’m getting alot of spam comments again, awaiting my moderation. I desperately need to update and revamp this blog, but for now I’m just gonna disable comments. Maybe I’ll get to it this weekend. So if this ticks you off, you can’t do anything. Because you can’t comment, HA-HA!

In the last week our phone, internet, and electricity were shut off, but everythings back up. Electricity was only for a day, but the phone has been off since before I went to Portland. So if you’ve been trying to call me, you can now. Of course, I still have my cell phone. We are thinking of turning off the phone altogether and just rely on cellphones, which is ok with me I guess. I didn’t know we could get internet without phone, but according to verizon you can. I guess that would save a little money. I could always use Skype at home. The only thing about skype is you can’t call from a landline to a skype user. So it’s would be pretty much used for calling out. But at two cents a minute (to call a landline) it’s cheaper than a cell phone. Of course skype to skype calls are always free, but I don’t know anyone who uses skype.

It’s been brought to my attention that this site looks screwed up in Internet Explorer. The pics seem to be really big. I don’t know why, but will try to fix soon. If you really want to see it right now, go download Firefox, you’re supposed to have it anyway. All the cool kids use it, you wanna be cool right?

Got the weather, calendar and music player plug-in working again. Just had to edit the sidebar.php file. Thanks for the tip Zesty. I no understand at first, now me do.

I changed the theme to random header image, so now everytime you refresh the page it changes images. They’re just images I found on google. I don’t know if I’ll keep the theme, as the weather and calendar plug-ins don’t seem to work with this theme. Does anybody really rely on those plug-ins?

The only good Spam comes in a can, that’s what I always say. I’ve been getting about 35-40 spam comments on here daily, they’re not getting posted, but are awaiting my moderation in my inbox. It’s probably all done by bots, programs that can figure out how to post comments automatically. So I set-up the Captcha! plugin to help fight it, now if you choose to post a comment you are shown a small image with distorted text in it, and have to type that text in the box before your comment will be posted. The font I put in there is not the most distorted, trying to make it easy on you, but if I get more spam I may make it more distorted. Try it out and let me know if it’s to hard to read or whatever. I don’t think it’s case sensitive, I just tried a test comment and I capitalized the letters that looked like capital letters, and it didn’t work. Just try all lower case first.

Added a photo gallery and video gallery, look over to the right and you can get to them. Just two videos now of Roger and I firing spud guns into buckets of water. I thought about submitting them to big-boys.com because the pay $100 for original videos, if they use them. There are alot more dumber videos than ours on there, so I think we have a chance. Also, the pay $1000 for the top rated video of the month. Not much else going on, slow weekend so far.
